Teaches the Faith and entertains!!
Wow!! This book was absolutely amazing!! Not only did it teach the faith and evangelize in a non-threatening manner, it showed people everywhere how to truly live and carry out the teachings of their faith. The characters were gripping, and once I got into it, I had a lot of trouble putting it down!! Thanks so much for writing a wonderful and enjoyable novel that taught and was entertaining at the same time!!

PIERCED BY A SWORD was such an awesome book. I loved every minute of it. The characters were all down to earth, yet they grew in their faith and truly felt His awesome forgiveness. The book helped me to see His forgiveness for my own sins. God gave Becky the grace and the means to change her life. She chose life for her precious baby and God gave her a wonderful husband.

Brings our faith to life!
PIERCED BY A SWORD is the first fiction book I have read in over ten years. I usually read the Bible and the writings of the Church Fathers but, at my wife's insistence, I read Mr. Macfarlane's fantastic and captivating novel. PIERCED BY A SWORD offers its readers insight into the workings of the Holy Trinity and the Blessed Mother. I would literally sit for hours reading the journey towards greater faith by lapsed Catholics or Protestants and of practicing Catholics. The book has really inspired my wife and I to pray together more often and to weave our faith ever more tightly into our daily lives.
Additionally, PIERCED BY A SWORD taught me many things about Marian prophecy and traditional theology I had not considered previously. In sum, I would most highly recommend PIERCED BY A SWORD to any Catholic seeking insight into a more full expression of their faith.

This book will touch souls!
I just finished PIERCED BY A SWORD. The story itself is great. Since it mentioned so many Indiana locations, I was able to picture much of the action in my mind - which always makes a book more enjoyable. The greatest compliment I can pay this book is to say this book must surely please Our Lord and Our Lady whenever someone new picks it up and is captivated by the characters, the story, and the many references to God's love, Our Lady's love and protection, and the importance of standing up for what you believe in. This Book Opened My Heart!
I've read all three books and love them all, but it was PIERCED BY A SWORD that changed my life. Although I already knew Church teaching on contraception, I didn't admit to myself how wrong I was to use it until I read this book.
