Me, Bon Jovi, and Ultra-Difficult Evangelization
Volume XXVII, Number 27
December 12, 2023
Beloved Friends in Christ,
As my longtime readers know, I stay out of your hair (and inbox) during the holidays, so this will be my last message before Christmas.
I have important deadlines about ordering Mary Foundation gifts in time for Christmas, a phenomenal podcast, a quick update on our annual appeal, and our group prayer.
"Ohh Ohh, We're Halfway There...""...ohh, ohh, we're livin' on a prayer!" Thank you, John Bonjovi, my fellow New Jersey guy-man-dude, who is my age, grew up not far from me, and has always had a better haircut. He was raised Catholic, by the way. I'm not really a big fan, but he did marry his high school sweetheart and has four kids. I pray for him to return to his faith.
Oh yeah, where was I? Our annual Christmas appeal is almost halfway towards the modest goal necessary to keep our doors open for another year. We just need few hundred more one-time gifts and new monthly donors. Will you pray about becoming one of them?
If you missed my original message...
You might be wondering why I never share the dollar amount of our goal or prompt you with particular donation amounts. It's because keeping our doors open is about reaching countless souls—each of whom is priceless to God—and about you making a joyful sacrifice for them, prompted by Him.
Frankly, I'm not even sure if Our Lord is calling you to support our work financially. I trust Him. I trust you.

Yale Grad or Telenovela Star?
Is there hope for learning the practical skills and mind-blowing theology needed to bring your fallen-away friends and relatives back to the sacramental life—no matter what your personality, no matter how bleak your relationship, or how non-religious your loved one?
Jose Miguel Pulido will teach you how to do just that on our latest CatholiCity Podcast. He is absolutely riveting and full of enthusiasm and creative wisdom.
He is former atheist who was born in Colombia, was personally recruited by the Holy Family for his amazing mission of coaching ultra-difficult evangelization, and graduated with a Yale MBA (where he convinced sixty of his mostly godless classmates to attend a 6-hour Easter service—and they loved it!).
Enough of my words. You will love his—and he sounds even better than he looks.
Let's Pray
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit...
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
Where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
Amen.
I'm out. 'love you guys.
Stay frosty. Drink eggnog. Have a blessed Advent.
