Something Big is Coming
Volume XXVI, Number 12
July 7, 2022
My Faithful Friends,
Something big is coming, but whether it happens or not hangs in the balance...
I need your humble prayers today for our boldest project ever—something bigger than big. Plus I have a couple of odd Catholic musings, then links to two classic messages for new and longtime readers, and four cool quotes.
FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, ANYWHERE
Every year, we conceive and pull off "a divine project" (as I like to think of them). I focus on your spiritual participation, personal intentions, and supernatural benefit. Our next project is beyond ambitious—but it might not happen because certain aspects of it are beyond our control.
Whether it's bringing your intentions to Rome, Fatima, the Holy Land, the shrine of Saint Joseph in Montreal, Lourdes, or pinning the Mantle of Mary on the four corners of our country to help God save America—none of it could happen with your participation through prayer, self-denial, and financial sacrifice.
Starting This SeptemberIn two months, on the Feast of the the Holy Cross in September, we are hoping to kick off something so big that it will last through June of 2024. This "something" is truly audacious. It is logistically challenging (almost impossible), but our crazy Mary Foundation is in a unique position to pull it off.
As far as I know, what we are planning has never been attempted, much less accomplished, in any country in the entire history of the world.
Countless Catholics beyond those who read this Message will be able to participate every day, no matter where they live and without regard to their age or personal circumstances.
You can be a part of it, starting today, with the prayer below.
Barriers to be OvercomeI am not free to reveal specifics right now because we are in negotiations with other organizations. If approved, I will provide you with details in August. And yes, Father John Anthony Boughton, Vicar General of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, is deeply involved. I can tell you it involves the Eucharist.
Planning began just weeks ago. Decisions outside of my control need to be made immediately. I believe Our Lady desires it for America and the world.
So your prayers will help overcome the barriers. You know I'm fasting just about every day this year, so consider joining me by fasting or some other kind of self-denial over the crucial coming week. Enough said.
THREE MUSINGS BY BUD
Apples to OrangesThe universe, as vast and astounding and wondrous as it is, is finite. It will cease to exist—the laws of physics and the Bible confirm it. Furthermore, the universe does not have free will. It could not reject God when He called it into existence. It cannot love God. Like us, it had a beginning. Unlike us, it has an end.
Every human being, from the moment of conception, possesses a soul which will never die. Every human is free to accept or reject God. One human being is more valuable to God than a trillion lifeless universes. Woe to those who willfully act to deny this priceless value of all human life. Unrepentant, they will burn forever.
What a Real Man DoesA real man does God's will. A real man suffers for those he loves. A real man does not lie to himself. A real man endures and battles evil. (Many real men enjoy the battle, despite their fear.) A real man resists the devil until the devil flees. A real man takes care of his wife, daughters, sons, mother, and sisters. A real man protects the vulnerable from this hard, cold world. A real man works. A real man prays. A real man goes to Confession. A real man relies on God first, and with confidence in himself.
When he falls, a real man gets up. A real man thinks, consults, weighs risks, decides, and lives with the consequences (besides, his life is too full to worry about what he cannot change, except to humbly learn from his mistakes, because he has already moved on to his next responsibility).
A real man denies himself, not for self-improvement, but for the benefit of others. A real man, despite his fear, is willing to be tortured or die rather than compromise the truth. Whether married or not, he is a father to others.
He is a brother to his brothers and a brother to his friends. He is always a son. By deed and word, he teaches. A real man loves Mary. A real man is a mystery to women because a real man is simple.
At the end of his life, a real man is so worn out that there is barely anything left to pour out for those he loves. Thus, a real man is almost always a tired man.
And he is the happiest man. You already know all this because you live it. Or, you have the blessing of this man, and other good men, in your life.
Are You Over Seventy? If you are what Rush Limbaugh used to call "a seasoned citizen," and are a believing Catholic, I am especially going to require your help, sacrifice, and generosity over the next few years, especially over the next twelve months. You are the hidden heroes in Our Lady's secret army. You have suffered, endured, and believed for decades. I know. You raised me.
This is your time. Our Lady sent you to the Mary Foundation. We are going to finish strong together—this is my prophecy. God never allows you to be far from my thoughts. I am counting on you. Your loved ones and your countrymen, no matter how far or close to Jesus, need you. Will you join me and so many others for one more long, glorious trip up to Calvary?
Let me know if you're in. Start thinking about how to recruit your like-minded friends and relatives to join us. Use our materials, especially our Daily Prayers to Save America and Warning books.
QUOTATIONS
"If the devil could talk angels out of heaven, he can talk men into hell."
- Anonymous (from a CatholiCity Message reader)
"Talk to Jesus, the Father, Mary, and the saints often during your day, from when you awake until you fall asleep. Do this in your mind—or out loud if no one is around. Talk to them naturally, the same way you talk to your best friend. It is very difficult to lie to heavenly friends. Ask for help. Thank them. I have found it is one of the greatest benefits of being a convert."
- Joseph Wood
"Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm."
- Winston Churchill
"The greatest general misconception regarding how to improve our habits or destroy our vices is that one must approach such tasks by small, gradual steps. This is invariably ineffective, despite our shared lifetimes of failures using such means. To effect lasting change for an individual soul requires dramatic, large, even drastic alterations to our actual behavior. Not one of the famous Twelve Steps for alcoholics is minor in scope. Spirituality is no different. Decide to go to Mass or pray the Rosary every single day for the rest of your life, and now you are on to something. Consider fasting, which is ridiculously difficult, especially for the novice, yet our sinless, perfect Lord fasted often and assiduously. So if you want to change, change big. God will help. Big changes to us are small matters for Him to support."
- G.K. MacBrien
"The greatest thing about every Catholic is that he is one."
- John Asycough

PRAYING FOR A DECISION
First, let's all take a breath. May we recall that prayer is raising our hearts and minds to God (they called it "recollecting ourselves" when I was a kid). We begin, as always, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit...
Eternal Father,
for the salvation of the greatest number of souls,
and by your direct divine intervention
to save America in her time
of greatest distress and moral danger,
in accord with Your unfathomable plans
before all the ages,
ensure that every person associated
with the Mary Foundation's
ambitious spiritual project do your will,
especially the decision makers,
and to do so on your holy schedule.
Send for your Holy Spirit to
unleash your power and presence!
You guided me to this prayer today,
so I trust You, O Generous Father,
will guide me on how to participate
before and after it begins—if it begins.
Help poor Bud avoid his usual mistakes.
Inspire his coworkers, on whom he depends,
and please look past his sins,
and see them and us as
sons and daughters of Immaculate Mary,
upon whose perfect intercession
we rely to bring this humble request
before the Throne of Christ,
on this beautiful summer day.
Amen.
Prayer changes the world, so thank you. Back to work for me.
Thank you for supporting our work, distributing our materials, keeping my guys busy (hint, hint—order something cool), consoling me with your prayers, and just plain for being there for us.
With the Holy Cross,
