Rare Good Friday Perspective
Volume XXVI, Number 7
April 13, 2022
My Friends,
Longtime readers know I stay out of your way this time of year.
Please consider joining me on Good Friday by watching The Passion of the Christ. My movie review might deepen your spiritual experience of this living Stations of the Cross.
I composed it on the day Gibson's masterpiece was released in 2004. At the apex of my own intense interior suffering from a personal matter that endured for years, I remember walking out of that movie willing to trade places with Our Lord.
It's been a while since I've looked at it, and it's one of best things I've ever written—except I can't recall anything about writing it and it doesn't sound like me. You decide.
Now let us pray, tens of thousands of us together, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit...
For the sake of His sorrowful passion,
have mercy on us and on the whole world.
Amen.
And amen. If you still need to give alms for Lent, I promise Our Lady will use your sacrifice to convert more souls. The amount doesn't matter.
My mind and body grow weary. Thank you for letting me be a part of your Lent. Are you ready to echo Jesus' words? "It is finished."
With the Cowardly Apostles,
Bud Macfarlane
