The Tenth Commandment
From the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Simplified
"You shall not covet anything that is your neighbor's" (Ex 20:17).
"Where your treasure is, there your heart will be" (Mt 6:21).
Relationship to Ninth (2534)
By forbidding us to covet a neighbor's goods, the tenth commandment completes the ninth commandment. It also completes the seventh commandment because theft, robbery, and fraud are rooted in covetousness.
