Gifts and Fruits of the Spirit

Gifts Which Complete the Virtues (1830-1832)
The seven gifts of the Spirit (wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord) belong to Christ's fullness. They complete the virtues and make us ready to obey divine inspirations. "For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God" (Rom 8:14).
By the twelve fruits of the Spirit, (charity, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, generosity, gentleness, faithfulness, modesty, self-control, and chastity) the Spirit forms us for eternal glory.
