Wonderful, inspiring, tear-jerking, and enjoyable!!
I have read all three of these novels and found them to be exciting and inspiring. I recommend them to anyone. I think everyone could recognize someone in their own lives that relates to the characters in these books. Magnificent!!!

Wonderfully written book
I read Pierced By A Sword three or four years ago. I read the book as a break from all the serious reading that I must do. I was captivated by the characters and the writer's style.

This book and the other two have literally changed my life. I was already a devout Catholic but HOUSE
OF GOLD animated Catholic devotion and practice in my life. It has set me on fire to share my faith with others. Whether you're still with the church, fallen away, or a priest, you have to read this book!

Life-Changing
I have read all three books. My favorite is PIERCED BY A SWORD. I am a convert from the Evangelicalism via Anglicanism. I have found well-written novels can help me to think like a Catholic more than non-fiction books. I would recommend these books for any new Catholics for an example of following God in difficult times. I was deeply moved by Buzz--one of my favorite characters. The books are good stories. If you read them, your life may not be the same. They also remind me of Michael O'Brien's books.

Terrific, Share, Re-read, and Share Again!
I have actually read all three books by Mr. Macfarlane, Jr. I enjoyed them so much I ordered more copies to share with friends and family. They are inspiring true-to-life stories. I couldn't stop reading once I started. Wonderful books--I recommend them to everyone.

I loved all three books!
The books are a cross between Robert Ludlum and Stephen King. Apocolyptic and very suspenseful stories. I really enjoyed all three books. Not only were they excellent fast-paced reading, but they teach many faith lessons along the way. I strongly recommend these to anyone.
