The CatholiCity Message

Volume XI, Number 9 – October 2, 2007

Dear CatholiCity Citizen,

Happy Feast of the Guardian Angels! We'll pray to our angels shortly. We're going to keep this message particularly short because we're gearing up to release an all-new free Catholic CD from the Mary Foundation in a matter of days, so keep an eye on your in-box. Until then, here are quotes about our Guardian Angels and a few sayings of Saint Therese of Lisieux, whose feastday the Church celebrated yesterday.

"Make yourself familiar with the angels, and behold them frequently in spirit, for, without being seen, they are present with you."
Saint Francis de Sales

"God's universal providence works through secondary causes. The world of pure spirits stretches between Divine Nature and the world of human beings; because Divine Wisdom has ordained that the higher should look after the lower, angels execute the divine plan for human salvation: they who are guardians, who free us when hindered and help bring us home."
Saint Thomas Aquinas

"Be not afraid to tell Jesus that you love Him; even though it be without feeling, this is the way to oblige Him to help you, and carry you like a little child too feeble to walk."
Saint Therese of Lisieux

"At the evening of life, I will appear in front of you with empty hands, because I don't ask you to count my works. For your eyes, all our good deeds have stains. Because of this I want to clothe myself of your own justice, and to receive from your love."
Saint Therese of Lisieux

"Prayer is, for me, an outburst from the heart; it is a simple glance darted upwards to Heaven; it is a cry of gratitude and of love in the midst of trial as in the midst of joy! In a word, it is something exalted, supernatural, which dilates the soul and unites it to God."
Saint Therese of Lisieux

Thank you for your time. We hope these quotations inspired you and lifted the burdens from your day, even a little. With God, with each other, and with the angels and saints, we are never alone. Let's pray, tens of thousands of us together, to our Guardian Angels, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit...

"Angel of God, my Guardian dear, to whom God's love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen."

The next time you hear from us, we'll have information on that new talk from the Mary Foundation. Hint: it's on a subject every true Christian wants to know about.

With Christ,
