June 7-8: Feasts of Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart of Mary

CATHOLIC CHURCH IN STATE OF CRISIS

Dear CatholiCity Citizen,

We've begged Our Lord and the angels and saints to guide our words to you today. The Catholic Church needs your help right now as the bishops of the United States prepare to meet in Dallas next week. We'll keep this short.

KNOCKED DOWN
Three days ago, for the second time in two weeks, CatholiCity was literally knocked off line, this time by a freak construction accident that severed a major communication "trunk" line in northeastern Ohio. Our website is finally back up, but our phone lines, website, and email communications systems have been completely shut down for days, frustrating our ability to inform you about perhaps the most important online prayer initiative we've ever planned. We smell a diabolical rat. In fact, we're sending this message from the computer network of a CatholiCity Citizen in another city. So here's the scoop:

RECONSECRATION OF AMERICA
As one of 70,000 CatholiCity Citizens, you are part of one of the largest online Catholic communications networks in the world. We believe Our Lord called you personally to be part of this network for a reason. We're joining with EWTN, L.A.T.R.I.A, and other Catholic apostolates in a last-minute initiative to implore Catholics everywhere to call down supernatural intervention from Heaven to galvanize our bishops during this time of crisis in the Church.

Later today and tomorrow, during the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, we're going to send you an email prayer. We are asking you to pray this prayer yourself and with your families, and to then forward it to everyone you know.

The consecration prayer we will send is the same one used by August Cardinal Hlond of Poland 1946 on behalf of the Polish people when he renewed the Mother of God as patroness of Poland originally made on 1656 by King Casimir. Our own bishops formally consecrated the United States of America to Immaculate Mary as our Patroness in the mid-1800s.

ONE BODY
Just as a husband and wife sacramentally join into one body and bear forth the immortal fruit of a child, we're asking you to join together as One Body in Christ with Catholics everywhere to give birth to supernatural fruit with this reconsecration of America to Immaculate Mary. God will hear us. Our bishops need us, perhaps more than they realize. If you pray this prayer with all your heart and forward it to countless Catholics around the world, the future of the Catholic Church American will change forever.
