The CatholiCity Message
Volume III, Number 28 – October 21, 1999
Dear CatholiCity Citizen,
This week's message will be brief. We shall begin with, "Shucks, we have no idea what we're doing..."
1. KICKED OUT: UPDATE
Thank you for your continued prayers regarding the new owners of our building kicking us out of our office space. Prayers work. Despite some setbacks, we've scrambled and found another place to rent. The move may cause some brief disruptions in CatholiCity services, and we'll keep you informed. The new owners, two lawyers, have been treating us better. We need an extra week or two to pull off the move, so please keep praying for us and for the new owners.
2. A SWEET IDEA
If your parish has a website, please ask them to link to CatholiCity (if they don't already). We have a nifty page with instructions and link icons that you can direct your parish's webmaster to here:

4. THINGS WE LOVE
We love baseball. We love collies. We love chocolate milk. We love Grace Kelly movies. We love mowing the lawn. We love overalls. We love Saint Anthony.
QUOTES OF THE WEEK
"Live every day as if it were your last, and one day you are sure to be right."
Irish Maxim
"If we submit everything to reason, our religion will have nothing in it mysterious or supernatural. If we violate the principles of reason, our religion will be absurd and ridiculous."
Pascal
"When two do not agree about religion, it is nearly futile to hope for agreement in other things."
Pope Leo XIII
"Apparently a scientist is a man who surveys all the sciences, without any particular study of them, and then gives expression to his own moral principles or prejudices."
G.K. Chesterton
JOKES OF THE WEEK
"You can't say civilization isn't advancing; in every war they kill you in a new way."
Will Rogers
"I grew up in a neighborhood so rough that I learned to read by the light of a police helicopter."
Bill Jones
Let's end by praying with all our fellow 15,000+ CatholiCity Citizens for the spiritual and temporal needs of our Holy Father, Pope John Paul II:
"Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.
See you next week (or the next...)!
Yours in Christ,
Your Friends at CatholiCity
