A heartwrenching tale of sacrifice!
I read the new version of this book and it was wonderful. I honestly could not put it down. My husband and I read all our books together, so we had to wait until the end of the day to read it or when he came home for lunch. There was a lot of research and depth that went into this book. That is what makes many readers go back to the same author. This is truly a gift of Mr. Macfarlane's. I cried at the end especially for Father Chet Sullivan and John the Baptizer. The Mormon aspect of the book brought new insight into my life. My grandmother and sister are Mormon. I pray for their souls. I hope this book could become a movie. Thank you for your time. Power of Prayer is amazing!
This book is the most amazing and inspirational story I have ever read. My faith in the power of prayer was once again brought to light and it reminded me that our every little prayer can help

An amazinginly spiritual experience & journey.
I read PIERCED BY A SWORD in 2 days! It was amazingly spiritually-filled. I found myself praying more during the 2 days I was reading it than I ever recall having prayed before. It has brought me to an amazing new spiritual plane.

I too recently read the Left Behind Books. They were entertaining but they skimmed the surface whereas PIERCED BY A SWORD dove deep. A friend of mine told me about these books and so I ordered them. They sat beside my bed for nearly a year. When I decided to try PIERCED BY A SWORD, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I have always practiced the Catholic religion, but after reading this book I realized that I never embraced or lived my religion. Thank you Mr. Macfarlane for helping me see how fortunate I am to have the love of Mary and Jesus. I can't wait to read the others.

Best reality-based fiction ever!!!!!!
This is a great book. It prompts you to examine your conscious. The emotions it will stir are indescribable. I've loaned it to many friends who ask if they can pay me for it and keep it. Needless to say they kept the book and I only ask that they get copies to give to others. They always do!

The characters are just like me!
I strongly recommend this book to all who haven't read it! The characters are so unique, you feel like you ARE one. The plots are so true-to-life. I couldn't put this book down for two whole days. What a great novel!
