Father C. John McCloskey's Good News, Bad News: Evangelization, Conversion, and the Crisis of Faith, written with Russell Shaw, is a wonderful book for anyone seeking to share the Catholic faith, for it illustrates many reasons why non-Catholics become interested in, and ultimately convert to Catholicism. Fr. McCloskey is a dynamic priest deeply in love with Christ and his C hurch and a gifted evangelist. He is also a good listener. As David Carradini, reviewing this terrific book for Amazon.com wrote: "Story after story illustrates that Catholic evangelization is not about coercion, but about listening to God in prayer, listening to others, then pointing them in the right direction based upon what God says and what they say." McCloskey's enthusiasm for the faith is catching. His message is also a great challenge to Catholic laywomen and laymen, who have a glorious and indispensable role to play in carrying out the work of evangelization in the everyday world in which they work and can bring to others the kind of friendship made possible by Christ.
